The Isle of Wight as a Prison

Prisons are overcrowded and it is a fact that prison ships have been in use for quite a few years now, even the police are thinking about using ships to hold offenders in. If you've read about our idea for using the Isle of Wight as the main point of immigration, you'll already be aware of this islands usefulness. So, if we're keeping lots immigrants on the island, there's bound to be some room left over and it'd be wrong to waste it.

A combined immigration holding point and prison would also mean that we wouldn't have to employ as many guards, leading to a massive saving for tax payers. And should it turn out that some of the immigrants were less than desirable it would be very easy to put them straight in to an extra secure cell if the prison was just across the road.
