Get Rid of Green and Amber Traffic Lights

Fossil fuels are running out, so we all need to make sure we're being sensible with the amount of electricity we use. We're already sensible enough not to have air-conditioning in every house or do all the other wasteful things America does, but there are still things we could be doing.

Getting rid of green and amber traffic lights is one of those things. When the red light's on we stop. When it isn't on we go. Why does it need to be any more complicated than that? And a simplified system such as this would reduce the electricity used for traffic lights by two thirds - a massive saving in the long run.
